Since Christmas 2021, as a result of covid, I have had a constant cold. In January 2022, I started to have frequent pain, terrible migraines. I went to my doctor who gave me medication to treat the cold, but without success. This went on for so long that we considered everything from pollens and allergies caused by either dust mites or mold in my apartment.
Then in April, suddenly, without any pain, I lost one of my teeth. So I went to my regular dentist. She gave me a check-up and told me that my teeth were starting to loosen and that I needed to put in 1 or even 2 implants to replace some of my teeth. She gave me an estimate of 12’000 CHF to replace 4 of my front teeth. Following this, I noticed that my breath was sometimes strong at the end of the day, it was very unpleasant for my entourage and for myself. I then decided to ask a second dentist in neighbouring France to see if I could reduce this bill. I had let 1 month go by in the meantime. The dentist asked me a lot of questions about my parents and my family, if any of them had had problems with their teeth at a young age, which was not the case. There, he taught me that my teeth were hanging by a thread. That my sinuses and upper jaw were almost non-existent due to a genetic disease. It was a huge shock!
He made me understand that only my teeth on the right side of the lower jaw were fit to hold and he established an estimate of 24000 Euros including the extraction of all the teeth (except the healthy ones) and the installation of 12 implants. This treatment was going to be done over 18 months by regularly going 2 hours away from my home.
Two weeks later, I was introduced to Sublime Clinique. Amor gave me very good advice, he was able to hear the urgency of the situation and fought with the doctors to get a consultation very quickly and reassure me of the quality of the clinics working with him. His listening, his empathy and his motivation made that a few days later, we both flew to Istanbul with an estimate established by the clinic, including the transformation of my mouth in whole and not only to the ¾ as proposed by the French dentist, but including, also, the expenses of luxury transport on the spot, and the nights in a hotel of high standing.
When I arrived on site, a consultation was scheduled on a Sunday, translators were at my disposal so that I could communicate perfectly in English and French with the dental surgeon. It was then explained to me that a bacterium had eaten away at my flesh and that I had to act as quickly as possible, as the damage had evolved over two weeks. I then collapsed. The entire Sublime Clinic team was there to support me and give me a moment to assess the situation and make a decision. They made me realize that even though this was going to be a major ordeal, I needed to act quickly and take care of my health. My fears about my private life and the way people looked at me blocked me, having to live without teeth for several months was an insurmountable idea for me. They were able to find the words and gestures to convince me of the importance and urgency of the situation. That the priority was my health and not my appearance for a few months. So I agreed to have the operation right away, 30 minutes later everything was organized.
Before, after the surgery and when I returned to Switzerland, the whole team was extraordinary. Their support throughout this ordeal has been paramount and has given me an inner strength that I never imagined existed.
